Over 80% of Nepal’s population is Hindu.
Nepal is one of the world’s poorest countries. Isolation and a long-ruling monarchy have contributed to Nepal being one of the poorest and most underdeveloped countries in the world.
Although predominantly Hindu, Christianity in Nepal has been on the rise since the government adopted secular democracy in 2008. Christian missionaries were previously banned from entering the country before the absolute monarchy came to an end in 2008, but it is now home to more than 8,000 Christian churches and over a million converts. Currently, the church in Nepal is one the fastest-growing.
However, because Nepal is a county with many sub-languages and people groups, it still remains unreached, with less than 2% of its population being Christians. Believers in Nepal are hungry to be equipped and trained so that they can minister to their own people.
During this trip, you will have an opportunity to visit not only various ministries existing in Nepal, but train and teach the local church leaders and believers how to study and teach God’s Word. You will also have an opportunity to serve a local village and provide medical services to them and connect them to a church. If you are in the medical field, we highly encourage you to consider serving in this trip.
Purpose: Strengthen the local church by training them in the word. Visit different ministries and communities and serve them by doing medical camps and in Gospel sharing.
