Missions education trip 2019

There is an average of 70,000 immigrants and 1 million international students coming into the United States yearly. San Francisco itself is home to 600,000 Chinese immigrants and 40,000 international students coming from all over the world. Majority of the nationalities coming to us come from an area in the world called the 10/40 window.

Missiologists refer to the 10/40 window as an area of the world - 10 degrees to forty degrees north of the equator, stretching from the west coast of Africa to the east coast of Japan, contains 67% of the world’s population and 95% of the remaining unreached people groups (UPG). A people group is considered unreached if less than 2% of the population is Christian or ´if there is no viable indigenous church within the group. By ‘viable’ Church we mean a sufficiently developed indigenous Church, capable of evangelizing its own people without the need of cross-cultural assistance. Majority of these UPG’s belong to 5 main religious blocs: Tribal, Hindu, Unreligious, Muslim, Buddhist (T.H.U.M.B).

Engage Global is an opportunity where we can not only learn about these people groups and 5 main religious blocs but also interact and engage with them. For 5 days, you will be able to learn and experience how to share the Gospel to these different groups of people. This education trip will not only give you practical experience, but more importantly, give you biblical foundation to God’s heart for the world. If you are wanting to serve God cross-culturally, are surrounded by friends from different nationalities, are ministering to international students, or just wanting to learn more about missions, we highly encourage you to come join this trip. The nations are already coming to us! What are you doing about it?

Purpose: Discover God's heart for the world through exploring God's Word. Learn how to reach across cultures through exploring God's World, and discover their part in His story through exploring ways to be engaged in God's Work.
