In 2008, Ruth saw that many children in her community of Chibote were in dire need. She began walking through the village visiting orphaned and vulnerable children who would otherwise have no one to care for them. Ruth's background in early education led her to start a school for the children so that they could start receiving a basic education. In 2009, she and her friends started serving, educating and caring for vulnerable children before Hands at Work came to partner with her in 2012. In 2016, Ruth stepped down as the CBO coordinator to help build up leaders and support multiple communities through the Kitwe Service Center. You can read more about her story on the Hands at Work website.
Ruth asks that you please lift up her three children (one boy and two girls). One has finished school and would like to continue on to college, but they are not sure about whether the financial resources will be available. Ruth also asks that we pray for her spiritual growth and maturity as she wants to be able to effectively live a gospel transformed life in her service to the vulnerable.
