VISION & FOCUS
The leadership at Sunset Church hopes to engage every member in the task of global missions both at home and abroad.
Our definition of missions: To present the Lord Jesus Christ to the world through His power by means of any ministry extending beyond the congregation and the church facilities. This will cover a wide range of missionary and mobilization activity, including evangelization, discipling, planting churches and aiding in their growth and development (both overseas and in the United States).
Sunset Church currently allocates a percentage of its general fund to overseas missions, training (in the form of short term missions) and education. The task of developing a strategy to carry out the church’s vision, of selecting missionaries to support, and of managing the funds is handled by a commitee of lay members and pastoral staff.
Sunset Church intentionally seeks to support those workers serving the most unreached areas of the world, since there has been a current lack of Western church funds going to workers in these areas.
Sunset Church currently assists financially about 28 full-time missionaries. Most of them serve within the 10/40 window.
