Africa Ministry (Hands At Work)
Hands at Work as an essential service provider.
From the beginning of Hands at Work’s call was clear; to reach the most vulnerable children, in the most impoverished places in Africa. In over 60 communities spread throughout 8 countries across Africa, they’ve identified the most vulnerable children who, without support, would simply not survive.
At present, many governments have stated that ‘Essential Services’ must continue to provide for and protect the most vulnerable in society. As an essential service, Hands at Work remains committed to providing for the most vulnerable within the communities that they are serving across Africa. Though there are many government restrictions to which they are adhering, their care for the most vulnerable will not stop.
Our partnership with them will not stop as well. Sunset's Africa Ministry strives to engage the believing community of Sunset Church to Pray Unceasingly, Give Generously and Go Boldly.
Pray Unceasingly
1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 commands Christians to “pray unceasingly... for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” We ask supporters to do just that for the poorest of the poor in Zimba. Here is how they have asked us to pray for them during this time:
Please pray for all those who are fearful in this time - our children and their families, and our Care Workers. May God’s perfect peace surround them.
Pray for Hands at Work volunteers across Africa who are ‘running towards the problem’ and continuing to serve daily. Pray for protection for all those who are serving, and strength to face the daily challenges.
Pray for favor with local governments as we seek to respond to the needs of our local communities.
Thank God for all those who are responding to this time of crisis with courage and sacrifice.
Give Generously
2 Corinthians 9:7 instructs us to “...give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” If you can sacrifice and do good by sharing what God has blessed you with in support of the 120 children in Zimba, Zambia that we support, please do that by going to the Hands at Work donation page. A donation of $25 can feed a child for one month.
Go Boldly
James 1:27 explains that “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction…” You can watch and listen to stories from our past teams who decided to go boldly on our Vimeo channel. Meet The 2024 Africa Short-Term Missions Team
This summer, twelve of our Sunset Church members are heading to Zambia, Africa to partner with Hands at Work to visit and encourage the care workers in Zimba as they serve and care for the most vulnerable children in that community.
