Joey Chen
English Lead Pastor

Joey joined Sunset Church as the youth pastor in July 2007 and is now our English Lead Pastor. Joey has spent most of his life in the Midwest; growing up in Michigan, attending college and Ohio (Cedarville University, 2003) and finishing seminary in Illinois (Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, 2007). He feels called to San Francisco and seeing the Gospel of Jesus Christ proclaimed and transform the city. In his free time you may find Joey running or swimming as means of working off his love to cook and eat. Although Joey loves San Francisco, you'll probably find him rooting for his Detroit sports teams!

Walter Leung
Assistant Pastor, Cantonese Speaking

Walter attended the Billy Graham Crusade in Hong Kong at 1975 then accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. After several years serving as a layman, God called him to serve as a full time minister. He finished his Bachelors of Theology from Hong Kong Lutheran Concordia Theological Seminary at 1985. After serving few years in Hong Kong, his family immigrated to Los Angeles in 1992. He served at Chinese Christian Mission as book room and publisher manager more than 6 years. To equip himself to serve at church, he went to Christian Witness Theological Seminary for his Masters of Divinity at 1999. Then he served at Grace EFC of San Francisco as pastor and he served at the Worldwide Bible Society US & Canada as General Director. God led him to serve at Sunset Church as the Cantonese assistance pastor from May 2010. Their family has five members: Walter and his wife Ling; daughter Judith (20); son Jeremiah (14) and Yanni (10).

Clark Fobes
Youth Pastor

Clark Fobes grew up in San Francisco and began attending Sunset Church early in 2000 as a junior high student. Six months later, he accepted Christ at a summer church retreat and began walking with Jesus. While attending Lowell High School, he was involved in Sunset's AK/JS Youth Ministries, as well his high school campus Christian club, Agape. After graduating from high school, he left for college to UC Irvine where he majored in East Asian studies and Chinese. Shortly after, he began his seminary studies at Talbot Theological School in Southern California, where he is finishing up his final year of his M.Div degree. His love for San Francisco and his passion to see youth students embrace the Gospel led him to return to the city and Sunset Church to shepherd the youth and see the lost come to faith. This same passion for the lost has led Clark to plan to eventually move overseas to East Asia, in hopes of serving as a long-term church planting missionary for the Gospel amongst the unreached people groups.

Bill Tam
Transitional Minister, Cantonese Speaking

Dr. Bill Tam and Hazel married in 1982 and they came to know Jesus in 1985. They have three children. In 1977, Bill got his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Columbia University. He worked many years in academia, business and industry. In 2005, God called him to attend Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary and he started serving as the Executive Director of Traditional Family Coalition in 2006. Bill joined the staff of Sunset Church in March 2012 as a Transitional Minister. His passions are building up the church, training disciples, preaching and teaching. In his spare time, he enjoys music, reading, jogging, making new friends, and having fun with his family.

Cecil Wong
Christian Education Director

Cecil is married to May, the love of his life. He has two children he loves to the moon. For almost three decades, he was with Cornerstone Evangelical Baptist Church involved in various ministries such as musical dramas, directing choirs, leading fellowships, and being a day camp counselor (for 10+ years). After graduating college, he taught for fourteen years at the church's school - Cornerstone Academy before transitioning to serve as chaplain and dean of students in 2004. In May of 2007, Cecil graduated from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary with a master's degree in theological studies. Ten years prior to that - in 1997, God had been giving Cecil a growing passion for families to experience authentic transformation and grace-filled living at home. Since coming to Sunset, he has been encouraging and training parents and volunteer staff in Christ-centered Bible learning which connects to real life, love, and family. Cecil enjoys bass fishing, biking, tennis, and weight lifting, but mostly just hanging out with wife and kids. He also enjoys eating and traveling with parents and extended family.

Lucy Gee
Office Manager

Lucy accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior during high school and has been a Christian for almost 3 decades. Lucy was born in Hong Kong and came to San Francisco when she was 6 years old. She attended San Francisco State University where she graduated with a B.S. degree in Business Administration and Human Resources. God has graciously led her to Sunset Church to worship and to serve as Office Manager. She feels honored to join the staff of Sunset Church and to be able to use her corporate office experience and administrative skills to serve the staff and build up the body of Christ at Sunset Church. Lucy has been married to Leonard for 18 years and they have two children, Lauren, 14 and Justin, 11. Lucy enjoys cooking, entertaining, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Katherine Ng
Bookkeeper

Katherine graduated from San Francisco State University with B.S. in Accounting. She has worked in different accounting positions for a bank and a wholesaler/distributor for many years. She and her husband, Tony, and their two sons were baptized at Sunset Church in April 2001. Katherine has volunteered her financial expertise to a Christian music organization for some time. In 2003, she responded to the Lord's calling to become the part-time finance staffer at Sunset Church. She finds great joy in devoting her time to serve God at Sunset Church.
