Kin Keung Mak
Pastor,

Kin became a Christian during the final year in college. After he graduated, he worked in the field of civil engineering for six years as he was attending a small church in Hong Kong. He was involved in evangelism and saw the church grew in number. The Lord had put a strong desire in him to help the spiritual growth of the new believers and he received the call for full time ministry in 1984. After finishing M.Div. from China Graduate School of Theology (Hong Kong), he served with a missionary to plant a new church in a housing estate for six years. His family immigrated to San Francisco in 1993. He served at the First Chinese Baptist Church in Chinatown for ten years. In February 2006, God led him to serve at Sunset Church as the Cantonese Speaking Pastor. He and his wife Angela married in 1982. They have two lovely daughters, Melanie (21) and Jocelyn (16). Besides serving the church and the three ladies at home, he enjoys serving on the tennis court too.

Walter Leung
Assistant Pastor, Cantonese Speaking

Walter attended the Billy Graham Crusade in Hong Kong at 1975 then accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. After several years serving as a layman, God called him to serve as a full time minister. He finished his Bachelors of Theology from Hong Kong Lutheran Concordia Theological Seminary at 1985. After serving few years in Hong Kong, his family immigrated to Los Angeles in 1992. He served at Chinese Christian Mission as book room and publisher manager more than 6 years. To equip himself to serve at church, he went to Christian Witness Theological Seminary for his Masters of Divinity at 1999. Then he served at Grace EFC of San Francisco as pastor and he served at the Worldwide Bible Society US & Canada as General Director. God led him to serve at Sunset Church as the Cantonese assistance pastor from May 2010. Their family has five members: Walter and his wife Ling; daughter Judith (20); son Jeremiah (14) and Yanni (10).

Joey Chen
Youth Pastor

Joey joined Sunset Church's pastoral staff in July 2007. Joey has spent most of his life in the Midwest; growing up in Michigan, attending college and Ohio (Cedarville University, 2003) and finishing seminary in Illinois (Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, 2007). He recently married his fiancée, Jeannette Lu, in the winter of 2008. Joey's calling is to youth and their families. His desire is to be a part of God's work in transforming students. He actively engages students and walks with them on their spiritual journeys. He also desires to see youth ministry creatively include students with the life of the whole church (yes, this means adults!). In his free time you may find Joey running or doing other outdoorsy activities. He loves backpacking and winter sports. And yes, Joey is a fan of Detroit sports teams; a life-long fan of the ever-disappointing Lions.

Cecil Wong - Christian Education Director

Cecil has been married to May for about 18 years. He has 2 children, Leanne, 10 and Randy, 8. For almost 3 decades, he was with Cornerstone Evangelical Baptist Church involved in various ministries from musical drama to fellowship to day camp. After teaching for 14 years at the church's school, Cornerstone Academy, Cecil took on the role of chaplain and dean of students. In May of 2007, Cecil graduated from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary with a master's degree in theological studies. Interests and hobbies include bass fishing, biking, tennis, and weight lifting, but mostly just hanging out with wife and kids. He also enjoys eating and traveling with parents and extended family..

Claura Ngan Wong - English Music Director

Claura was born and raised in Hong Kong. She graduated from San Francisco State University with undergrad and graduate degrees in Piano Performance, and a master degree in Church Music from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. Claura started attending Sunset Church in 1988, and has been on staff since 1994. She is married to Winson Wong.

Margie Fong - Chinese Music Director

Margie has a special passion for music and has been serving for over 25 years as soloist, worship leader, choir director, workshop speaker, and mentor. For the last seven years she has served as the Executive Director for Builder of Christian Artists, Int'l and Chairperson of the CM Conference, USA. Following the call of God, she sees music as a tool in fulfilling the Great Commission of Christ. She has been with the Sunset Church since 1997 and recently joined the staff. She and her husband Thomas have been married for 27 years, and they have three lovely children: Michelle, Stacy, and Jeffrey. Whenever the opportunity arises, she and Thomas love to travel and discover the various cuisines of the world.

Katherine Ng - Bookkeeper

Katherine graduated from San Francisco State University with B.S. in Accounting. She has worked in different accounting positions for a bank and a wholesaler/distributor for many years. She and her husband, Tony, and their two sons were baptized at Sunset Church in April 2001. Katherine has volunteered her financial expertise to a Christian music organization for some time. In 2003, she responded to the Lord's calling to become the part-time finance staffer at Sunset Church. She finds great joy in devoting her time to serve God at Sunset Church
